Introduction to R course: The course will provide the basics of R in preparation for the R Genome Annotation short course on Friday, Nov 16th. The course will run Thursday (15 Nov) afternoon from 13:30 – 16:30 with afternoon tea included.
Using R for Genome Annotation: The course will provide a background in using the R programming language and associated software for the annotation of genomes. It is assumed that attendees will be either familiar with R or have taken the Introduction to R Course on the previous day. This course will run all day on Friday (16 Nov) from 8:30 – 16:30 with morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea included.
The Full Registration entitles participants (Professional or Students) to: attend all scientific sessions, Monday 12 November, Tuesday 13 November, Wednesday 14 November, 2018, and Thursday morning, the FAANG workshop on Wednesday afternoon November 15 2018 and Thursday morning November 16 2018, morning/afternoon teas and lunch (Monday - Thursday), Welcome Reception Monday 12 November, 2018 and the Conference Dinner Tuesday 13 November, 2018. The short courses conducted on Thursday afternoon 15 November 2018 and Friday 16 November 2018 after the Symposium are an additional cost.
The Day registration fees include all Symposium sessions on one day - Monday 12 November, Tuesday 13 November, or Wednesday 14 November, 2018, morning/afternoon teas and lunch on the nominated day. The Welcome Reception Monday 12 November, 2018, the Conference Dinner Tuesday 13 November, 2018, the post- Symposium FAANG Workshop and short courses are an additional cost.
The FAANG workshop registration (Professional or Students) include the joint Symposium session and workshop sessions on Wednesday 14 November 2018 and the workshop session Thursday morning 15 November 2018 with morning/afternoon teas and lunches. The Conference Dinner and short courses are an additional cost.

Note that in order to submit an abstract and present a poster, you must be pre-registered for the conference. Registration includes the welcome reception, all scientific sessions, morning & afternoon teas, lunches, conference dinner, and conference booklet. Day registration just includes the scientific sessions, morning & afternoon tea, and lunch for that day plus the conference booklet.
Student registration includes the welcome reception, all scientific sessions, morning & afternoon teas, lunches, conference dinner, and conference booklet. To qualify for the student registration, students must include documentation verifying enrolment in an institution of tertiary education. This can be either formal documentation from the University (eg transcript) or a letter from the supervisor. Note that the student discount will only apply to the first 50 students. Therefore, early registration is strongly recommended.
To assist students to participate in the conference, a number of travel bursaries will be available. Please apply for a travel award if you are eligible as a student (see Bursaries). To qualify for a bursary, you must submit an abstract, attend the conference and present a poster. The deadline for submitting an application for a travel bursary is 6 August, 2018.

Entry into Australia
You will need your passport and a VISA to enter Australia unless you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen. These visas must be arranged prior to your arrival in Australia.
For some nationalities, an electronic visa can be issued on-line quickly and cheaply. For other nationalities, however, you must apply for your visa through a service provider.
Please confirm your visa requirements using the links below and obtain the correct visa as necessary. The conference organisers are not responsible if you are denied entry into
Australia because of visa problems. Some Australian visas may take 3-4 weeks to process. So please arrange your visa as far in advance as possible.

Terms and Conditions
All cancellations must be submitted in writing. Cancellations of registration received on or before Friday 28 September 2018 will incur an administration fee of $100. No registration refunds will be made for cancellations received after this date. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person.
Insurance, including medical cover and expenses incurred in the event the Symposium or Workshop is cancelled, is your responsibility. We recommend you discuss your insurance cover with your travel agent. The policy should include loss of fees/deposits through cancellation of your participation in the Symposium and Workshop or through the cancellation of the Symposium and Workshop itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property and additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Symposium Secretariat and Organising Committees will take no responsibility for any participant failing to insure.
In the event of industrial disruptions, the Symposium Organisers cannot be held responsible for any losses incurred by delegates. The programme is correct at the time of printing, but the Symposium Organisers reserve the right to alter the programme if and as is deemed necessary.
The Organising Committee and/or Symposium Organiser shall not be held liable for personal accidents or losses or damage to private property of registered delegates of the Symposium. Delegates should make their own arrangements with respect to personal insurance.
Registration for the Symposium will be available only on-line using the link below until ???. By submitting this registration form, the delegate acknowledges that there is no right to lodge damage claims against the organisers of the conference should there be unexpected program changes or should participation be hindered or prevented by unforeseen political or economic events or by force majeure. With registration, the delegate accepts this proviso.
