We cordially invite you to participate in the 7th International Symposium on Animal Functional Genomics in conjunction with the Functional Annotation of Animal Genomes Workshop in Adelaide, South Australia from 12th-15th November, 2018.
This 7th ISAFG conference continues a series of highly successful meetings that enjoy an excellent reputation for scientific excitement and wide international participation. Previous Symposia were held in Piacenza, Italy (2015), Guarujá, Brazil (2013), Dublin, Ireland (2011), Edinburgh, Scotland (2008), and Michigan, USA (2006 and 2003). These conferences attract a truly global audience. The ISAFG meeting in Adelaide will be in on 12th-13th November in conjunction with a FAANG workshop to follow at the same location on 14th-15th November and a related bioinformatics course on the 15th-16th November.
The 2018 ISAFG conference will be held over 2 and a half days and will include an exciting blend of plenary sessions, invited poster presentations and industry workshops of interest to animal geneticists and scientists from around the world. Plenary sessions will reflect a wide variety of important and topical areas in animal genomic research. The Symposium will be followed by a one day FAANG workshop and an associated one and half day bioinformatics short course. All of which will provide an active forum for scientific discussion, networking and interaction.
The Symposia and Workshop will be held in National Wine Centre in the heart of the cosmopolitan capital city of South Australia, Adelaide. South Australia enjoys a lovely Mediterranean climate with outstanding accommodation, restaurants and white-sand beaches. Adelaide is the gateway to three leading Australian wine regions of the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley, and areas of significant geological and tourist interest, including the Flinders Ranges and Coorong National Parks, Kangaroo Island and the Great Ocean Road. November is the great time of year to visit South Australia with mild daytime temperatures and little rain.
We are looking forward to a successful conference that reflects our strategy of mixing science and topical issues with the latest advances in technology and research to create an integral event of interest to all animal geneticists. So please join us for an outstanding international scientific meeting in a wonderful location!
